Sunbury Neighbour Day gives us the opportunity to get to know others, re-connect, foster a sense of belonging, and strengthen our community.
In recent years the population boom has brought thousands of new residents into the area, and many new individuals and families don’t know their neighbours or don’t have any local social connections.
Across Australia, rates of loneliness and social isolation are at an all-time high, impacting our mental and physical health. We’ve all heard it said that despite being more connected than ever before in our modern world, we are isolated and disconnected.
This might be getting to know your neighbour next door, across the street or down the road; re-connecting with someone in our local community you haven’t heard from in a while; or checking in on someone who might be having a rough time.
Whatever this looks like, Sunbury Neighbour Day is the perfect chance to reach out and get connected. Our friends from Neighbours Every Day have put together some helpful resources and tips to get started!
There will be a number of public events held around Sunbury. We will be listing these on our website with details so stay tuned!

We Support
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we as the Sunbury community work, play and reside, the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge their continuing connection to land, sea and community and we pay our respects to them, their cultures and to their Elders past and present.
